If you’ve been following my blog for some time, you probably have noticed I love budget-friendly items. While I love my higher-end items, they’re typically a splurge for me. For instance, my Chanel wallet was actually a Christmas gift from my amazing mother-in-law and my Tory Burch bag was something I saved up for weeks to buy (and I bought it used!). But I use my Chanel wallet every single day and that Tory Burch bag gets plenty of wear also. The thing I focus on when determining what I want to spend money on is what I will get the most use out of.
This jacket from Anthropologie was definitely a splurge for me. At $128, I had to ensure it was something I’d wear regularly. I have a different denim jacket that I wear several times a week, so I knew this would be in the rotation regularly. Classic pieces like this are exactly the type of thing I am willing to spend money on.
You’ll notice I paired this jacket with some cheaper pieces like these awesome Old Navy cropped jeans and a Madewell tee that’s only $17. Knowing where to splurge and where to save keeps the look balanced. For trends, I try to focus on good sales and less expensive pieces, while the classic items are definitely where I’ll spend more money.
Let me start by saying that, despite the fact that I work full-time in fashion, I’ve always preferred comfortable clothes. With that being said, I still like to look cute and stay on trend whenever I can. Since this is a lifestyle blog, I thought it might be fun to incorporate one post a week to talk about style. You should note that I said style, not fashion. While most of the looks I’ll post will (hopefully) be on trend, they will also be everyday looks that you can wear to lunch on the weekends or to a coffee date after work. I hope these posts help inspire you in some way or at the very least give me some consistent content to post. 😉
For fall, I love light layers. I almost always have a sweater or jacket with me because I tend to get cold easy. This denim jacket pairs perfectly with everything! I also love having black jeans that I can wear with sneakers. I’ve been on a huge sneaker kick (pun intended) lately and have no intentions of stopping any time soon!
