Shorts And Sweater Combo

Living in Texas, it can be such a struggle knowing how to dress in the months leading up to fall. It’s usually still warm out, but there can often be random cool days as well. I’ve found that the best way to dress is usually layers.

I loved pairing this lightweight sleeveless sweater from Gap with my favorite pair of denim shorts for a fun fall look. The length on this sweater makes it perfect if I just want something light, but it’s still cool enough to wear on those warmer days. I also love that this sweater can be paired with jeans and a long sleeve top during the winter.

By the way, I was so shocked to find these Steve Madden mules at Nordstrom Rack clearance for under $35! I think I must’ve grabbed one of the last green pairs, but it’s still available in black, which would be SO cute for winter. The style is incredibely comfortable too—and gets tons of compliments!

Weekend Guide to Denver

My sister has been living in Denver for about two years now and I love the excuse to go visit her and hang out in one of my favorite cities. I’m not a big fan of cold weather, so visiting this time of year is my favorite. You get a break from the lingering heat in Dallas and can enjoy Denver before winter is in full swing.

Since I just spent a fun (and quick) weekend in Denver, I figured I’d throw together a weekend guide to the city. There is so much to do there it can be overwhelming, so knowing where to go is essential.

BLACK EYE CAP HILL

My sister lives only a couple blocks from this adorable coffee shop, so I knew it was a must visit. I am pretty much dead in the morning before I get coffee, so this was one of our first stops. My sister and I both ordered an iced latte and it was wonderful. Plus, how cute is this place?

UNION STATION

This historic Denver landmark is full of food, drinks, shopping, etc. And the remade interior is seriously amazing! We stopped in here for some of the best ice cream in Denver at Mailbox Ice Cream. There is also a popular bar in Union Station called Terminal Bar that is a must try!

LARIMER SQUARE

I’ve been to Larimer Square the past few times I’ve been in Denver and absolutely love it! There are so many fun shops and restaurants up and down the street. Parking can be tough, so definitely try to snag a spot a street or two over if you can. This area is walkable and always crowded, so safety isn’t an issue!

RED ROCKS PARK

If you’re staying in Denver, but want the opportunity to hike and explore the outdoors, I highly recommend Red Rocks Park. Only 30(ish) minutes from Denver, it’s a much shorter drive than the mountains, but with equally awesome views. We saw several deer wandering the trails too!

PEARL STREET

My family has visited Boulder several times and love it. Anytime we are in Denver and have a free evening, we love to drive out to Boulder (also about 30 minutes from Denver) and grab a bite on Pearl Street. It’s got all kinds of stores and restaurants and there is pretty much always some live music to enjoy also.

I hope this gives some of you an idea of where to go next time you visit Denver. There really is so much to do there, this only begins to scratch the surface. I’d love to hear some places you enjoy in Denver for the next time I’m there!

Warby Parker Fall Collection Launch

It was only a couple years ago that I was given my first pair of prescription glasses. Growing up, I wanted to wear glasses so bad, but I was also cursed with 20/20 vision, so I never got a pair. 😉 When I started going to the optometrist a couple years ago, he encouraged me to get a pair of screen protecting glasses since I stare at a computer screen for so many hours a day.

These glasses have been a total game changer. Not only do my eyes feel much less fatigued and dry, I finally get to feel cool wearing glasses. If you wear prescription glasses (or just love sunglasses as much as I do), I highly recommend checking out Warby Parker’s fall collection. The collection is made up of both eyeglasses and sunglasses.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Warby Parker for several reasons. First, I love that they make glasses affordable. If you’ve followed my blog for any amount of time, you probably have noticed I have a thing for affordable clothing, accessories, etc. Secondly, Warby Parker partners with non-profits like VisionSpring to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.

If you need another reason to love Warby Parker as much as I do, check out/shop their entire fall collection below. The fall collection focuses on colorblocking and mixed materials—two major trends for the season.
