Those of you who followed me before I turned my blog into Kin & Kodachrome probably remember how into fitness I’ve always been. In fact, I’ve been working out since I was 13 years, running mostly. About 3-4 months ago, I trained 6 days a week to improve my race time and ended up burning myself out. My body (and mind) were begging me for a break. And so I gave myself some time off from working out.
But I’m ready to get back into the swing of things. It’s been about 3 months of me consistently not working. Sure, I will take a random barre or spin class, but nothing consistent by any means. While I was trying to think of how to get back into exercising regularly, my mind immediately went to SoulCycle. I took a class at the Preston Hollow SoulCycle location the first day it opened and it was one of the best/hardest workouts I’ve ever done. But what makes SoulCycle such an amazing fitness experience?
We’ve all heard it before, “location, location, location.” But it’s true. I love where the Preston Hollow SoulCycle location is. It’s so easy to get to and is near a number of great coffee shops and restaurants, so I love working out then running next door to grab a bagel and coffee at Einstein Bros. Bagels or down the street to have lunch at True Food Kitchen (seriously, my favorite!).
I can say honestly that SoulCycle is one of the best workouts I’ve ever had. I took a class a couple of weeks ago and looked like I’d just showered when I walked out of the studio. It’s that good. Each instructor I’ve taken a class with is so motivating and keeps the class moving nonstop so time flies by. I love how weights are incorporated into the rides as well so I feel like I get a full-body workout and not just cardio.
OK cute workout clothes may not be the key to a great workout, but they certainly don’t hurt. There’s something about being in a cute tank and leggings that just makes me feel better about exercising. SoulCycle has an entire apparel section in their studio filled with the cutest tanks, leggings, sweatshirts, hats, etc.
If you’re in the Dallas area, I’d love for you to come check out a free class that I’m hosting next weekend (details below). It will be so great to meet some of you and get in a good workout all at the same time! If this is your first time at SoulCycle, be sure to bring water! Shoes will be provided for you there, so you can wear any kind you’d like to the studio.
If you are planning to attend, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, Jan. 13. Spots are limited!
