Whether you’re a 7-day-a-week gym rat or an occasional yogi, one of the most important gym essentials is a good gym bag. The perfect gym bag should be able to transition from the gym to everyday life effortlessly. I prefer my gym bags to be durable enough to hold my sweaty workout clothes post-workout, but on trend enough that I can carry it around while running errands after the gym if I want. Here are a few things I look for when I choose a gym bag.
Compartments: when I pack a bag for the gym, I spare no detail. I plan to do a “spill my bag” post soon to show exactly what I carry with me to the gym, but let’s just say I don’t pack light. I love a bag that has a compartment for my clothes, one more my beauty products and another for my wallet and keys.
Durability: nylon is my fabric of choice when I look for a gym bag simply because it can be wiped clean without any problem. I need a bag that can be thrown in the back of my SUV when I’m in a hurry to make a cycle class without any hesitancy!
Style: for a gym bag to make the cut for me, I need to be able to carry it to work or run errands as well. Because I typically run at home on a treadmill, going to the gym isn’t an everyday activity for me. Because of this, I like to utilize my gym bag for other activities like quick road trips or pool days.
