I don’t know about you, but when I shop for workout clothes, I have two things in mind: comfort and style. There is something so unmotivating about working out in sweatpants and a baggy t-shirt. But throw on a cute braided-back tank and capris and I’m ready to hit the ground running (literally!). So what are the key things to keep in mind when shopping for fitness apparel?
Can you move in it? Being able to jump, run or do downward dog in my workout clothes is essential. I love flowy tank tops that allow me to move my arms around any way I want. For bottoms, I actually prefer tight. Bicycle shorts or yoga capris are two of my favorite workout bottoms.
Is it sweat resistant? When I work out, I
sweat glisten. A lot. So I need something that isn’t going to look like I took a shower when I’m done. Dri-fit tops (like this one) are some of my favorites to run or cycle in because they quickly absorb the moisture and allow me to focus on my workout.
Can I wear it out? After a Flywheel class, I’m notorious for stopping by Eat Zi’s to pick up dinner. If I don’t feel comfortable walking around Eat Zi’s or any other public place in my workout clothes, I’m probably not going to wear them. When shopping for fitness apparel, make sure it’s cute!
The bottom line is: I won’t feel good about my workout if my clothes feel sloppy. A cute outfit is essential to a good workout, so never skimp when it comes to fitness apparel!
